The Big Pine Lakes Association would like you to join our association.
As an introduction to Big Pine Lakes Association, we are a non-profit organization that has a membership of approximately 220 of the 330 families that have properties around Big Pine and Pine Lake in Finlayson, MN. Our primary association goal is “Preserve and Enhance the Quality of our Lakes”. Our association celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2020.
In 2023 we had over 40 volunteers help with water quality and fish habitat projects. Over the past 8 years, we have worked in partnership with Aitkin and Pine counties to develop Buffer Zones along 30+ properties around the lakes. The completion of these projects directly improves the water quality within the lakes and helps protect critical fish habitat. Our group is also active being the “voice” of our lakes in both county and state committees that impact the future of the lakes. Our membership also contributes additional funds to support area food shelves and to help sponsor the Annual 4th of July Fireworks Display on the lake. No Association funds are used for the Fireworks.
We encourage a connectivity amongst our membership by supporting engagement activities around the lakes. These includes semi-annual Association Group Meetings, Newsletters, a Membership Directory, a Business Directory, July 4th Boat Parades, an Association Summer Picnic event, Coordinating Volunteer Project Days, sending out Monthly Email News updates, and hosting a Nextdoor site.
We ask that you consider joining our organization and supporting our efforts in “Preserving and Enhancing the Quality of Our Lakes”.
